Exaggerating About Your Business

Okay, stop right here if you are bragging about your business on the blog post given by other websites, you will straight away be banned by the website. When you get lucky enough to get the opportunity to post your blog on a good site, please do not blow it up by talking about your business and promoting your brand. For starters, the blog owner will not even post your bog and will not accept it and not only that they can further block you from the website too. You will not further be allowed to post the blog unless you request too. Their readers do not want to read promotional post and will not be thrilled even if you try using their platform for your marketing.

When the blog owner gives you the opportunity to post your blog, you must ensure you are using it to the full potential. However, you should not be too SEO focused even if you are posting a guest blog but still you must add a link that makes you bring back to your website, it is pretty imperative. Readers won’t be able to discover you or get additional stuff without a link.

Remember that certain websites might not allow you to add links in the body of your article. But the vast majority of content-curation websites will at least permit you to add a link to your author profile. If you are allowed to do so, take advantage of the chance to give your readers access to more quality resources regarding your brand.

Not Adding any Attractive Offer

We get it we said you should not be promoting your brand in any way; however, you have to do it subtly, in a way that does not look too forced. The best thing that you can do is offer your customers something enticing through your blog post that would make them click on your link and visit your website. You can offer some discounts or anything extra that most of the other brands are not doing. However, if you are planning for the brand awareness only, this step is not necessary. On the other hand, if you are more into making the customers visit you adding a good deal on your bio may be a good idea.

Not Adding Quality Content to Your Blog Post

You want the readers to come to your website but what are you offering them? That is the main question. You have to offer them something extra to make them stay on your blog post, and you cannot do anything other than the quality content. Quality and relatable content is something that people like and stay and maybe comment on it or share with their friends too. You can contribute a lot by adding a quality content to your blog post.

A link to your website should drive referral traffic to it if it appears in both your author bio and the content of your guest post. But what will the visitors discover when they come to your website? Are you providing insightful information on your personal website that will support your position as a subject-matter authority? If all the answers to these questions are NO, you may have to think about your writing strategy.

Contributing to Low Quality Blogs

One of the biggest mistakes that most bloggers make is they choose the wrong blog website for their posts. Do not ever do that, it would just end up bringing your own value and demand down, one of the reasons people strictly are against it is because it just brings the whole website down and brings a wrong impact. The bottom line is if you are not contributing to a high value blog site, you might as well not do it at all.
